Montenidoli Fiore Vernaccia di San Gimignano
This is a remarkable expression of Vernaccia from Elisabetta Fagiouli’s Montenidoli Estate in the hills overlooking San Gimignano in Tuscany. Unlike traditional Vernaccia, Fiore is made using only free-run juice with minimal contact on skins, ensuring a delicate yet complex flavor profile with an emphasis on purity and highlighting the unique terroir of the estate’s higher altitude vineyards. Elegant and structured with bountiful notes of white flowers, herbs, citrus, and almond. A distinct minerality is present with lees aging giving the wine depth and a textured mouthfeel. The wine retains a vibrant acidity bringing balance and exciting the palate. The perfect apertivo and a versatile pairing for lighter fare with enough character to stand up to creamy risottos, tuscan cheeses, and heavier seafood.
