Tasting Notes: Golden color with bright reflections. Expressive nose with beautiful exotic fruits aromas (mango, lychee, banana). As well as slightly vanilla aromas. On the palate, we have a nice volume with good freshness very well balanced. Fruity aromas persist in the gourmet finish. Slightly mineral and racy. The developed flavors are fruity and nuanced by very beautiful mineral notes. Well balanced.

The Estate: Domaine des Chasseignes is a family-owned winery located in Sury-en-Vaux in Sancerre in the Loire Valley of France. The winery began with Alphonse Dezat, (great-grandfather of Aurore Dezat) in partnership with his wife Joséphine. They started with a farm that included a range of livestock, grains and vineyards.

Alphonse's son, Marcel, took over the farm and decided to plant more vineyards including the lieu-dit of Les Chasseignes, which was one of the first vineyards planted by the family and today one of the most famous vineyards of Sancerre.

The third generation, Denis Dezat, with his brother Claude Dezat continued to plant more vineyards and the focus shifted from livestock to winemaking.

Aurore Dezat took over the winery in 2011 and in 2016, David Girard, her husband, joined her. David arrived at the winery with a wealth of experience in organic and biodynamic farming and in 2023, the winery will achieve organic certification.

Aurore and David farm 9.5 hectares of the Sancerre appellation divided between 8.11 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 1.39 hecatres of Pinot Noir. The plots are mostly located in the village of Sury-en-Vaux and spread over the 3 famous terroirs of Sancerre: Terres Blanches, Caillottes, and Silex.
